Summer Equestrian Camps

2019 Schedule

To register for Equestrian Day Camps, please contact Tammi Gainer at 330.935.2300 ext. 104 or email tammi@pegasusfarm.org. Payment for the camp is required at time of registration to reserve your place in the class.

Open to students of all abilities, ages 8 to 16, although some eligibility criteria is established for each program. Each student will receive a healthy snack and handouts covering the lesson's content.  

"Hands On Horses" Summer Day Camp

New session added: Due to an overwhelming response, we added another session of Hands on Horses. 

July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Each day will include an unmounted theory lesson, groundwork with your horse, grooming, tacking and best of all-riding a horse! 

All of this will be accomplished while building a foundation of safety habits.

Learn all about horses and how to work with them including:

  • Horse handling/leadership/horse care
  • Herd behavior/body language/communication
  • Showmanship
  • Basic independent riding skills
  • Grooming and tacking
  • Breeds, markings and colors
  • And so more!

Each student will receive a healthy snack and handouts to take home that reinforce the skills learned in class.

    Session #2: July 15-19

Cost:

$285 per session

  • Limited to 6 students per session.
  • For the safety of all, there is a weight limit of 180 pounds.

Equestrian Vaulting Camp - FULL

An equestrian sport that is growing in popularity, Vaulting combines dance and gymnastics performed on the back of a moving horse. The activity promotes balance, confidence and a oneness with the horse in a safe, supportive environment. Many students have taken vaulting lessons as a means of improving their riding skills. Others find it a unique and challenging sport in itself. 

Each morning will begin with stretching, muscle-building and team-building exercises, moving to the vaulting barrel, then moving to the horse.
