Our Horses

    Austin

I had been working the Western Show Circuit when I arrived at Pegasus. I must admit, I now have kind of taken to this English riding. I really enjoy working with the classes that use lots of props and play games. When I am used to a leader, I get in tune with them and relax and enjoy the ride! I may seem a bit elusive when you first meet me, but I am sort of a no-nonsense type of horse. I am, however, learning to soften with all of the grooming and fussing over me. I am just a too cool paint!

    Blossom

I am a miniature horse and the smallest member of the Pegasus herd. And although I may be tiny, I have a big heart filled with lots of love for all who come to the farm for a visit. I guess you could call me the head of E.P.R. That’s Equine Public Relations! I am always ready, with my prettiest bonnet in my tote to greet our public and let everyone know about Pegasus Farm. So if you ever see us out and about feel free to give me a pat! I’ll be the one in the flowery hat!

I spend most days hanging my head over my stall door, keeping an eye on everything that is going on. It’s a big job, but someone has to do it. When not keeping an eye on the barn, I love working in classes. My extensive training makes me an excellent choice to help students learn riding skills, leading skills, and grooming skills. I love being a part of everything, and my slight goofball personality has made me a favorite of staff, riders and volunteers.

Dude is a registered Haflinger gelding, whose registered name is “A Cool Dude,” and we couldn’t agree more. He is 21 years old, but don’t let his age fool you, he is young at heart. Prior to coming to Pegasus, Dude retired from eventing, but he has done drill team work, and also driving. Dude has transitioned effortlessly into his new job, and everyone that has worked with him says he is just the best. He has a fun, willing attitude, and loves meeting all the new volunteers and staff members, and of course really enjoys working with our students.

    Dusty

Dusty may be a little on the older side, but we won't talk about his age. It's the wisdom of his years that matters the most. This guy has done it all in his lifetime. He has been a camp horse, a show jumper, a trail horse, and a lead line horse in his past. Dusty has taken everything in stride here at Pegasus, and of course, nothing has fazed him. He cruised right into our program and has endeared himself to staff and volunteers. They often mention how cute his curly mane and forelock are and how interested he is in being a part of everything. He is, after all, a pretty amazing pony. He is an excellent addition to our herd!
